NO SOUP FOR YOU!

April 29, 2005 - 10:43 pm No Comments

Awesome! Maybe… Check out this Yahoo story. As a Seinfeld fan, this episode ranks as one of my favorites. Too bad they aren’t allowed to yell at the customer, isn’t that the whole point? Atmosphere and good soup. I like this part the best:

“He is a typical high-strung chef,” she said, and his manner was portrayed “pretty accurately” on “Seinfeld.”

(So high-strung, in fact, Yeganeh hung up on an Associated Press reporter who had lined up an interview ? before a single question was asked ? then refused all further requests for an interview.)

When I visited New York oh so long ago we tried in vain to go eat there, but it was closed for remodeling or something. :( I was so disappointed. At least we ate at Monks.

First the Blog, now the Pod

If you think blogging is all the latest rage, try Podcasting, which is bleeding edge. For our anniversary/mothers day present for Trish I got her an MP3 player. Mainly for running but then sitting in the car going to work today I thought wouldn’t it be cool to listen to something else besides the crappy radio or the same damn cds over and over? Satellite is cool, but I don’t want to pay for it. Audio books are another option, but they cost as much as the actual book so screw that!

So, Now I’m screwing around with this podcast thing. Pretty cool, and the weird/groovey thing about this new tech is that it was pretty much started by Adam Curry. Yes, that Adam Curry from MTV. I’m listening to his podcast right now The Daily Sourcecode, pretty damn cool. I downloaded ipodder and am playing various feeds to see whats out there. Some of it is cool, but theres a ton of stupid crap out there. I’m mainly interested in the tech/geek related stuff so this is right up my alley. Hey, and this Adam Curry show isn’t bad either.

Happy Anniversary

NIN rocks

April 17, 2005 - 9:13 pm No Comments

Its late, I’m tired, but I just thought I would post this anyway. I’m sitting here listening to some teaser tracks from the new Nine Inch Nails album “With Teeth”. Holy crap, this album sounds fantastic. Sorry, I don’t mean to sound like a complete dork, but man….WOW. I love this band, its a damn shame that its going to be virtually impossible to see them live this next month. Best Buy (ie Worst Buy) has a streaming sample of one of the songs if you want to listen to what I’m talking about here

I’ve always been connected to the music in some way, I think Trent has a similar psychological makeup as me..although he’s ten times more manic depressive. I dunno, the man is talented and he just rocks. The show we saw in 1995 for The Downward Spiral tour is still burned into my brain as one of the best f*cking shows I’ve ever seen. I have never felt so drained from a show before (well, except the last Metallica show). I look forward to getting this album in 2 weeks.

Another cool thing he did, he released the original recording tracks onto the internet and let the fans have at it. Pretty cool, some of these remixes sound pretty good. Check them out here

Update
A certain underground source I have from the Hoboken area has provided me with a copy of the forthcoming album….Thanks SD (we’ll maintain his anonymity from the RIAA police)!

Swifty blows into town..then out

April 10, 2005 - 9:32 pm No Comments

Whoa…another Swifty sighting has been spotted in the Chicago area. Please stand back as this whirling mass encircles your town for a few hours eating Gold Coast Hot Dogs and sucking down all beers in his path. Last word has it that he is now somewhere over the Atlantic Ocean on his way to Frankfurt. You may come out of your basements. Somebody please warn the good people of Deutschland! Achtung! Achtung Baby!

Here I am, learning how to BLOG after a few beers on a Saturday night. What more could one possibly ask for in a Saturday night with your beau? Dinner out and a movie? Bah! Who needs it? Pass the Amstel Light, sweetie.
