Another day, another Hudson

Yeah, I’m a dork.
Hey, just thought I would give a quickie update to the ole railroad in the basement. When I’ve found time I have started to dabble in painting the rocks on the mountain and even tried out some of the landscaping stuff. The results are surprisingly very good! I didn’t think it would turn out but so far I am pleased as punch. Not bad for a first timer. Here are some photos, but they do not do it any justice.
| Since we are all train nuts we had a great time, even though it was raining. Erik was really excited to finally meet the real deal. We went for a short ride, along with several thousand other screaming Thomas fans, and checked out some of the other exhibits at the museum. We finally got a chance to climb into the cab of an old steam engine. Neat stuff, and my dad of course was impressed with the engineering involved. Erik kept us on the move so we really couldn’t stop and explore as much as we would have liked. I’m sure there will plenty of time to do that in the future. |

On the model train front, I was able to do some Ebaying and finally snagged myself another Steamer. The roster now sits at 6, I’m going to need some kind of shelf! Another MTH brand steamer, this time the Reading 4-6-2 Pacific. Again, another great buy from Ebay as this one was brand new. This engine has all the bells and whistles like the other ones, and has passenger station sounds. Now I’m in the hunt for some matching passenger cars. |
